On July 5th, the 2023 European Enterprises Wuxi Tour and Industrial Cooperation Matchmaking Meeting was held in Wuxi. Vice Mayor Zhou Wendong presided over the meeting. Mayor Zhao Jianjun and Speaker of the Vienna State Council of Austria, Ernst Waller, delivered speeches respectively. As the only representative of Wuxi colleges, President Zhou Guijin participated in the salon of “Seizing Opportunities, and Win-win in Challenges” and discussed the integration and development of industries between China and Europe with Kempten University of Applied Sciences in Germany, Heintel Group and other representatives from the education and business at home and abroad.
President Zhou introduced the development process of WXIT to the guests, elaborated on WXIT’s focus on the intelligent manufacturing industry, which connected with the modern industry cluster of Wuxi 465, and achieved outstanding results in the construction of profession clusters, reform of talent cultivation models, construction of teacher teams, technological innovation and skill accumulation, international exchange and cooperation, and improvement of governance capabilities. Then, President Zhou shared the experience and practices of WXIT in building an international high-quality skilled talent training model based on Sino-foreign cooperative education and the China-Germany SGAVE project of the Ministry of Education. He focused on promoting the international vocational qualification certification curriculum system and the “internationalization + application” technical and skilled talent training characteristics of the non-independent corporation of Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution - Irish College. President Zhou’s speech sparked a warm response from the guests, which fully demonstrated the fruitful achievements of WXIT in the field of intelligent manufacturing education and teaching, and established a benchmark image for the high-quality development of WXIT’s foreign exchange and cooperation.
WXIT will further focus on key fields such as intelligent manufacturing, EV, and new generation information technology, and carry out comprehensive and multi-level exchanges and cooperation with partner colleges including University of Applied Sciences Europe. The exchanges and cooperation include teacher training, student exchange, international professional competence standard certification, and joint construction of international scientific research platforms, which will create high-quality projects for cultivating international technical and skilled talent, and further make WXIT more influential in the field of international vocational education.
