On September 29, 2020 Wuxi International Friends Cultural Week Art Performance was held at the People’s Hall of Wuxi. Li Xikui, Deputy Chairman of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Bai Suning, Chairwoman of Jiangsu People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Du Xiaogang, Mayor of Wuxi Municipal People’s Government, Zhou Changqing, Vice Mayor of Wuxi Municipal People’s Government, Zhang Lijun, Secretary General of Wuxi Municipal People’s Government attended the event. Over 500 people, including the representatives of Wuxi People’s Friendship Envoys, Wuxi Model Units in Building Internationally Friendly Hospital, Wuxi Model Unites in Building Internationally Friendly Schools, and foreign friends in Wuxi joined the event.
Leaders of Wuxi awarded the friendship envoys, friendly hospitals and schools at the event. Dr. Antonius Budi Susanto, representative of our Indonesian partner school was awarded Wuxi People’s Friendship Envoy. President Gong Fanghong received the award of Wuxi Model Unit in Building Internationally Friendly School on behalf of WXIT and took the interview with the media.
In recent years, WXIT earnestly follow the national requirement of opening up on educational front, and has been listed in the top 50 of national higher vocational institutes with highest international influence for 3 years in a row. This year, we are included in the Characteristic Cooperation Project of China-ASEAN Vocational Institutes (the third batch) and awarded the Jiangsu Model Unit in the Management of Foreign Cultural and Educational Experts. We have made active contributions to the internationalized development of Wuxi and has fostered a characteristic and effective working system.
Currently, internationalized education of WXIT has entered a new stage. We will stay committed to our internationalized orientation, strive to build ourselves into a Class A school of national high-level higher vocational colleges and high-level disciplines with Chinese characteristics. In the new era, WXIT is poised to be a frontrunner in internationalized education among higher vocational institutes, and an advocate and a true follower of international exchange and cooperation in Wuxi.
